Douglas received his PhD in Theoretical Physics from Harvard University, where he also worked with the Parallel Applications Lab at UC-Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to advance computational methods and the practice of actionable visualizations in quantum simulations. Since then, Douglas has been a lead data scientist at Twitter and Pinterest, where he guided both companies through their IPOs, and an applied scientist at Amazon, where he designed and shipped advanced machine learning solutions to production that helped create new product spaces for Alexa. Brandyn Kusenda

Born and raised in Iowa, Brandyn worked for six years as a machine learning engineer at Amazon, first in their catalog division and later in their music division, before founding his own company PiStar Labs to leverage community collaboration to develop reinforcement learning algorithms, much like Huggingface brought it to natural language modeling. Brandyn now lives in Seattle.

Nico, as he prefers to be called, is an experienced cloud infrastructure engineer. Notably he designed and built Snap’s multi-public-cloud media delivery system for the Stories product, and was a key part of Lyft’s company wide migration to high-performance caching solution built off the OSS Envoy Proxy. Currently he works on Lyft’s Security team, driving adoption of modern data processing and ML tooling across the organization.
